The most potentially dangerous situation for narcoleptics is driving a vehicle. Unless symptoms are well controlled, they should avoid driving long distances. Diagnosed narcoleptics should co-ordinate driving with the use of medication. Also, they should identify when and if sleepiness is increasing and pull off the road for a brief nap.
