Types of sleep disorders take on many forms. Bruxism is a fairly common type of sleeping disorder in which one grinds and clenches the teeth during sleep. This sleep disorder can cause dental damage by wearing the teeth down. Severe bruxism may briefly disturb your sleep. Only at rare times will it cause you to fully wake up.
